A fearful tragedy is reported from Sosgrove, near Dookie. Lena Clugston, » farm labourer's wife, shot her four children and herself with a pea rifle. .When the neighbours reached the hduse they found Maggie (seven) and Violet (three) dead, and Rosie (eight) and iyaiy (two) wounded, the latter dangerously, while the mother was wounded by a shot through the stomach. The woman, who is believed to be demented, evidently placed the weapon against the children? s bodies, as each was shot beneath the heart. Asked the reason why, the mother merely replied that they had caused it. She left a letter for her husband, who was absent at. Work at the time.
