CORRESPONDENCE.

. — i-+ THE PRICE OF BREAD, v ' TO THE EDITOH. Sir,— Allow me to make ia suggestion, with regard to the price of .bread.. Let every head of a house, insist on having home-made bread for a time; and thus give the bakers euch a lesson as v they never got before. There is nothing to warrant the present rise in the price of the staff of life. I trust that thousands in Christchurch. will adopt my suggestion. One week's home-made breacT would reduce the price lsd tier loaf. Thank goodness the butchers have had to. come down, owing to opposition, and why not the bakers. The consumers have the remedy in their hands. Let. them form a league, and call it the Bread League, pledging themselves to use only homemade- bread fof a term. We form leagues on far less important matters than this. — I am* etc., .-* FAMILY MAN.
