» [P&tt Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 6. Information has been received by the. Tourist Department of the satisfactory liberation of the axis deer and red deer at Dusky Sound. Encouraging reports have boen received, regarding the establishment of red deer on the shores of Lake Rotoiti. Fine ..Beads have been seen. James Henimhigway, who vrao yesterday committed for'trial on a charge ot breaking and entering the General Post Office,' was to-day further charged with stealing £856 in stamps, the property of the New Zealand Government, and with stealing articles valued at £140 from Whitcombe and Tombs, Limited, two years ago and one year ago respectively. Accused was remanded until Saturday. It is understood that, the prosecution will largely depend on finger-print evidence. BLENHEIM, May 6. Thomas Mulcahy was charged at the Magistrate's • Court with snatching a totalisator ticket from William O'Connor as he was going to the pay-out window at Riverlands racecourse yesterday: 'He was sentenced to three months? imprisonment. The dedication of the new portion of St Mary's Church, which hae been cony pleted by the erection of the chancel, transept, vestry and tower, was celebrated to-day by the Bishop of Christchurch, assisted, by the clergy of the diocese. The Church was fflkd, and the ceremony was most impressive. The sermon was preached by Averill. A reception of visitors will be held this afternoon and evening. Bishop Julius will preach-. , DUNEDIN, May 6. At the Police Court this morning Mr Widdoweon. S.M.. gave judgment, in the ease against Walter Bull, fruiterer and florist, charged with having failed to close his shoo on the statutory nalflioliday. The Magistrate said that the question was whether defendant was exclusively cart-ying oil business as a f ruitere'r and exclusively that of ' a florist, and evidence for the defence was to the effect that the articles complain--ed of were commonly stocked" and sold by florists- of the ■ dominion, and the Magistrate held that in the absence of evidence to the contrary he was bound to believe it true. In the circumstances he must dismiss the present case * ■
