PROTEST AGAINST MR TAYLOR'S
CABLEGRAM
A meeting of electors of Christohurch North was held last nisjht. The following resolutions were unanimously agreed to: — {1) "That this meeting of electors of Christchurch North protests against the action of Mr T. E. Taylor, M.P. (our representative) in sending to the Prime Minister of Great Britain his cablegram in connection with the Drea-dnough- offer as member of Parliament for Christchurch North, on the grounds that such action was unconstitutional, unjustifiable, unstatesmanlike, and misrepresents us, and we believe the majority of the ejector- in the v^-iristch <£__ North constituency." (2) "That these present, together with such other electors of Christchurch North who so desire, and who sympathise with the above resolution, wait upon Sir Joseph Ward and' convey to him the said resolution, and protest, with such expressions of loyalty aa may be deemed advisable."
It was further decided to communir cate with Sir Joseph Ward at once and ascertain when it would be convenient for him to receive the deputation.
