[Per Prkss Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, April 22. Th© New Plymouth Harbour Board has .accepted" the tender of Fleming and Ferguson for a dredge to cost £33,000, to be delivered here in ten months. FEILDING. April 22. The Borough Council to-day at a special meeting passed the following resolution : — That the town clerk should •telegraph to the Valuer-General, stating that the Councilis dissatisfied with th«j excessive valuation, and that an office of the Department should be asked to visit Feilding and confer with the Council. WELLINGTON, April 22. In order to place New Zealand ,fislv on the Sydney market Mr Miles went across with three hundred cases, but &9 the auctions in the fish market take place at 5 a.m., and only middlemen attend, the prices were not considered satisfactory, and Mr Miles is now arranging to sell direct to the public. The supplies are small and erratic, and the demand heavy. The Department of Industries and Commerce considers that there is a good opening. The freight, duty, etc., amounted to twopence per. lb, and the prices run from 4d,per 1b for mullet to 10d for flounders, soles, scbnapper, warehoii and trumpeter. DUNEDIN, April 22. Ten cases of scarlet fever have been reported from the Tapaniii district. The health officer has gone up to see what arrangements can be made. One case is also reported from Fairfield. Mr . Duthie, president of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association, was tendered a send-off by the members on the eve of a visit to the OldCountry. .
