HOCKEY.
The annual meeting of the Akaroa Ladies' Hockey Club was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Akaroa, on Monday. There was a good attendance and tlio captain, Miss Vangioni. was in the chair. The report stated that- the club had had a very successful season, and the 'balance-sheet showed that the receipts had been £28 3s 5d and the expeuditure £19 los lid, leaving a credit balance of/ £8 7e (3d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following were elected officers: — President. Mrs R. Heaton Rhodes; vicepresidents, Mesdames Armstrong, Lelievre, Masefield, Virtue and Newton; captain, Miss Vangioni; honorary secretary, Miss Armstrong.; treasurer, Mies Masefield : committee. Misses Curry (2). Vangioni (2), Lelievre (2) and Narbey; auditor, Mr C. W. Leete. It was decided to open the season on April 22. The captain reported that matches would bo arranged with several visiting teams from Christchurch and elsewhere. The annual meeting of the Ashburton Hockey Club was held on Wednesday evening. Mr F. Mainwaring in the chair. The *eport and balance-sheet were adopted, the latter showing a small credit balance. Four new members were elected and the election of officers resulted as follows : — President, Mr Charles Reid; vice-presidents, Messrs F. Mamwaring, T, Morrisey, H. A.. Humphreys, William Moore, W. J. Silcock, H. E. Bonnington and L. M'Donald; captain, Mr C. H. Amos; vice-captain, Mr C. Pottingham; general committee, Messrs L. Steele, T. Miunis, A. Meredith, B. Sage and B. Hickman; selection committee, Messrs H. Millichamp, C. H. Amos, C. Pottingham and J. Kennedy; delegate to the Sports Association, Mr L. M'Donald. It was decided to open the season on April 22- t
