.SYDNEY, August 24. The illuminations in the city, on the jrarships, and in the Centennial Park were partly spoiled by rain, but notwithstanding Inhere were immense crowds in the streets and in the domain. ■ Lord Northcote's ball in Government House was a brilliant function.
