FIRES.

[Pijs, Press Assoclatiox.] DUNEDIN, August 22. Messrs Blissard and M' Vicar's furni-ture-making and wood-carving workshop in North-east Valley Avas burned, down early this morning. The plant and stock were insured in tho Guardian Office for £750. The building was owned by Messrs Callender and M'Leod. building contractors, and was insured in the Standard Office for £300. About eight o'clock on Saturday evening an alarm of fire was received at the Lichfiekl Street station for a fire in Linwood. The brigade turned out, but foun<l that the fire was just over the city boundary off Buckley's Road., and. when the engines arrived the building was practically demolished. The house was one of seven rooms, owned by Mr P. C. Wilberg, and occupied by Mrs Kerr. It was insured in tho South British Office for £250, and tho furniture in the National Office for £200. I
