TRADES COUNCIL'S ACTION.
FARM LABOT7REKS' UNION SUPPORTED. At a meeting of the Canterbury Trades and Labour Council held on Saturday .evening. tl:e follo-ivrng; ' tasoiiiItion was carried: — "That this Traded and Labour Council, seeing th« gross injustice done tho farm labourers of Canterbury by the refusal of an award by the Arbitration Court, and being convinced that such a decision could have been arrived at only by a complete disregard of the facts proA'ed in evidence and by an unreasonable and invincible bias against the workers, demands the immediate removal of Mr Justice Sim from the Arbitration Court Bench, find, further, this Council desires to place on record its strong conviction that the action of the Courtin manifesting such ineptitude, incompetence and weakness a,? are to be found in the decision in connection with the farm labourers' ease constitutes a graA'e menace to the industrial welfare of the dominion." It Avas decided that copies of the resolution should be sent to all trades councils and unions and progressive associations in Now Zealand, and the members of tho Ministry. It was further decided to support the petition to be issued by the Farm Labourers' Union, urging Parliament to remove Mr Justice Sim from tho Arbitration Court. At a meptincr hold on Saturday oveninir, thr> New Zealand Federated Boot. Trade Union passed a resolution fcimilar to that of tho Trades and Labour Council, and decided to send copies of it to Uie Government and to tho branches of the federation.
