[P£R Pbkss Association.] AUCKLAND, August 21. The local agents state that the Aeon is well provisioned, and has duplicates of all the more important parts of her machinery, including an extra tail shaft. The first opinion that something had happened to her machinery is now giving place to graver fears, owing to tbe prolonged absence of news of the vessel. The steamer Lord Sefton left San Francisco on August 2 for the same ports as the Aeon, excepting Napier, . and it is possible that sho will havo news of the missing steamer. The Lord Sefton is scheduled to reach Auckland on August 31. The Yeddo, which left Newcastle last week, is also searching for the missing steamer.
