♦ CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, August 21. (Before Mr W. W. Uoiiins, J.P., and Mr John Clark, J.P.j Offending Cyclists. — W. H. Ford, who did not appear, wag fined 10s and costs for having ridden a bicycle without a light attached at night. — Arthur Roy Simpson and Herbert Kissel, for having ridden bicycles on footpaths, were each fined 10s and costs, and William Davis, for a similar offence, was fined 5s and costs, pleading in extenuation that he thought he was riding on a cycle track. Drunk and Disorderly. — Thomas Manning (Mr Leathern) wa 6 fined 10s and costs. on a charge of having been drunk and disorderly. A Serious Charge. — John Herbert King (Mr Brown) pleaded guilty to a charge of having carnally known a' girl aged fifteen years., and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
