THE 1890 STRIKERS' BACK TIME.

[V?r ►'hess Association.] WANGANUI, August 20. It wag telegraphed from Christchurch on Monday that at a meeting of the Canterbury Branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, , strong feeling was shown «t the action of the executive in refusing the Premier's offer to allow the Society to buy in for £1500 the back time of the strikers of 1890 for purposes of superannuation. Seen by a Wauganui "Herald" reporter/Mr W. A, Veitch, colonial president of the Society, stated that there apparently had been some misunderstanding, and the Canterbury men had acted on wrong information.. As a matter of fact, the executive had not refused -Sir Joseph Ward's offer, and negotiations are still in progress.
