ORDINATION OF PRIESTS.
At, the Roman Catholic Church yes* terday three young Australian clergy = men, Aubrey John Goodman, Patrick ' Fanning and Francis Tyler, members of the Missionary Society of the Most Sacred Heart-, were ordained priests." The ceremony was conducted by Bishop Grimes, who addressed the deacons, re* ttjinding them that as Moses chose seventy men from Israel to do the work of the Lord, and as Christ chose hi* apostles out of His disciples to do the . great work of Christianity, they had been chosen to continue the great Work of the Gospel. " [ After the ceremony had been concluded the Bishop addressed the new priests on the subject of their ... duties and responsibilities, and recommended them to the prayers of the people.: At the invitation of the Bishop, eaoh of the new priests gave his blessing to the people for the first time from , the sanctuary, where they had been ordained.
The Bishop expressed his gratitude to their Superior for coming to his assistance by sending recruits to the ministry to labour for the glory of God and the good of the souls in their diocese.
During the ceremony Bishop Grimes was assisted by Dean Ginaty, as assis-tant-priest, Dr Kennedy and Father O'Harej as deacons at the Throne; Fatherß Moloney and Peoples, as deacons of the Mass, and Father Price, as master of ceremonies. Fathers Cooney (Lyttelton) and Nonyoux (Darileld) were also present. ...
The newly-ordained priests, who will probably labour in the Lincoln and -Darfleld districts, celebrated their first Mass in the Cathedral to-day.
