The Commonwealth vital statistics for last year show that 110,347 births were registered, the highest over attained. The illegitimate rate was equivalent to 6.15 per cent of the total, slightly lower than in the previous three years. Tho marriage rate was the highest for twentv j r ears. Deaths numbered 45,305, equivalent- to 10.90 per 1000. The deaths of children under one year wereequal to 81. 00 per 1000 of births. Tim deaths included 23 centenarians, 13 males and 10 females.
