COMPULSORY MILITARY TRAINING. / SYDNEY, August 5. At the Farmers' Conference, it was decided to support the. compulsory training of young men for defence purposes. A SENTENCE COMMUTED. The death sentence passed on Green, the murderer of Bridge, has been commuted to penal sei*vitude for life.
