♦-—j — A TOWNSHIP DESTROYED. IMMENSE DAMAGE. United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. (Received August 4, 8.35 a.m.) VANCOUVER, August 3. A bush fire destroyed the township oi Fernie, in British Columbia, rendering 5000 persons homeless. One hundred persons were injured and seventy killed. The damage is estimated at £500,000. Other towns are threatened by the conflagration.
