THE SOUP-KITCHEN.

AN EXPLANATION. A letter appears in this issue of the "Star" stating that the Trades and Labour Council has no knowledge or the statement made by Brigadier Albiston, of the Salvation Army, that a letter was sent to the Army by the Council regarding a case of distress. The brigadier stated, in answer to a question, that an officer brought the <?ase before him, and said that it had been mentioned in .the Trades and Labour Council meeting. He had taken, the case up as soon as it had been brought under his notice, but had no knowledge of its origin.
