The Evicted Tenants (Ireland) Bill was read a second time in the House of Lords. i A monster meeting in the Albert Hall adopted a resolution protesting against the Licensing Bill. Mr Balfour declared that the Bill was one of spoliation and hopelessly doomed to failure, since it was impossible to gain a great 1 end by grossly immoral means. Mr Haldane, speaking at Birmingham, declared that he would not abandon his office as Secretary of Btate for War until he had accomplished the ' weary work he aad undertaken.
