Consols. — Consols are quoted at £87 12s 6d. Colonial Securities. — Colonial securities are quoted as under, last week's quotations being also given: — :
Wheat. — The wheat markets rare inactive with a downward tendenoy owing to the brilliant weather and lower American advices* Cargoes are dull' and buyers are not inclined to speculate; 36s 6d is asked for New South Wales March shipment, but there is little inquiry for Australian on spot, which is quoted at 395. Flour is flat; Australian in London, 26s to 26s 6d, and Glasgow 275. Butter. — The market is very firm and unchanged. In the absence of supplies colonial prices are nominal. Cheese. — The cheese market is firm, and New Zealand coloured is at 64s to 655 ; white 59s per cwt. \ Copper. — On spot £57 2s 6d per ton, three months' £57 17s 6d per ton; electrolytic £50 15s per ton. Tin.— On spot £125 2s 6d per ton, thTee months' £125 2s 6d per ton. Iron. — £2 11s per ton. Sugar . : — The market is quiet; German lls Id, first marks 12s Bd. Wool. — The Bradford wool market is strong, but business is small ; common sixties 21Jtd, super 22£ d, forty-sixes lUd, forties lOd. Sheepskins.— At the sales 6700 were offered, including 6000 Australasian, and practically all »were sold. There was a good attendance and a brisker sale than has been seen for some time, with a stronger demand from America evident. Compared with the May sales merinoes advanced a farthing to a halfpenny; crossbreds and combings three farthings to a penny; clothings a farthing to a halfpenny; pelts of all grades shared in the advance.
