The snow and frost .recently experienced in the north-western districts have been the heaviest for years. Stock are suffering severely. THE KING'S COLONIALS. It has been notified that the Australian Light Horse Regiments have been allied to the King's Colonials. THE BRAYBROOK DISASTER. MELBOURNE, June 26. At the Braybrook inquest the jury discovered that the block register showed conditions similar to those that led to the disaster, namely, the line was given clear instead of what is known as the one-five signal. This has happened on threo previous occasions in one month, and altogether there have been eighteen such cases. (Received June 26, 10 a.m.) KAURI TIMBER COMPANY. SYDNEY, June 26. At the half-yearly 'meeting of the Kauri Timber Company, the chairman elated that business generally had been well maintained, and that there was no ground for uneasiness regarding the prospects. The revaluation of the properties was proceeding, and the result would be made knowii in the next balance-sheet. Tho company had paid off its debit of £46,000. THE LINLITHGOW MEMORIAL. The Linlithgow Memorial Committee has decided to erect a bronze statii^ to the late Governor-General. GOLD. PERTH, June 26. There has been an important gold find near Murchison.
