Mr Vf. R. Smith presided at t__4 meeting at Woolston, and there was ai fair attendance. '. The annual report expressed thanks to the ladies who had visited the school ~ and recommended the incoming coi-V---mittee to consider the advisability of asking the Education Board whether it would be prepared to erect a new wing to the school and sink a deep well. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £48 4s 10d f _ The report and balance-sheet wer* adopted. The following were elected member! of the committee .—Messrs W. R. Smit__> J. Cleworth, J. Crawford, W. T. Thomas, J. Scott, R. 0. Douglas and C. W_. White and Mesdames Wicks and Woodfc Mr Cleworth moved that it should be ! a strong recommendation to the incoming committee to urge on the Educa» : tion Board the absolute neoessity' ol erecting a new wing in place of the twa old buildings behind the school. The motion was carried. It was decided to recommend t___j Woolston Borough Council to acquit* a suitable area of land for recreation purposes for the young people of tin Borough. It was resolved to write to the Edn. cation Board asking it to instal thf single desks in new schools and school* Ito which additions were made. ) j The action of the Education Board ' in regard to fire drill was approved ot. It was decided to inform the Board that in the opinion of the householders the outer doors of schools should be made to open outwards, and dividing doors should be made to. swing both ways. ./ On the motion, of the chairman it was resolved to protest against teachers salaries being based on the average a*, tendance.
