1 According to the latest report, the total amount of tea produced in India and Ceylon during 1907 was 410 million pounds. Of this the United Kingdom consumed 249_ million pounds, and 171 million was consumed abroad. The increasing popularity of tea all over the world is shown by the fact that in 1890 . only fourteen million pounds wove congaumed outside of the United Kingdom.
