[Pi.;; Prkss Association.] OA3IBRTDGE, December 21. The high-level steel arch bridge erected over the Waikato cost over £13,000. It was officially opened by the Governor to-day in the presence of a very large and representative gathering. The structure is the first of its design in Australasia. A banquet followed. GISBORNE, December 21. Hare Matenga was brought up today on two charges of theft. Only the evidence of the arresting constable was taken, iand the case was then adjourned. The Southern Steamship Company (Keith Kamsay) have purchased the steamer Kotare from the Gisborne Sheep-farmers' Frozen Meat Company. GORE', December 21. Two miles of rails have been laid 011 the Waikaka railway. Formation work is being x>ushed on near the township end, and the line should be completed before tne winter.
