■» OPERA HOUSE. There was a good attendance at the Ppera House last evening, when the interesting and attractive programme for the week was repeated. The Racoons, Armstrong and Verne, Stewart ana Lorraine, and Sturm, the clever juggler, were among the most successful performers, and some excellent biograph pictures were showji. The programme will be repeated this evening. "HOME, SWEET HOME." On Thursday evening, December 26, Mr Allan Hamilton's New Dramatic Company will make its finst appearance iin Christohurch at the Theatre Royal, producing Frank Lindo's powerful domestic drama, in four acts, "Home, Sweet Home. This drama has been played with conspicuous success throughout England and America during the past seven years. In the Mother Country alone it has seen 1000 performances, and ite popularity is still great. Mr Allan Hamilton has secured the Australian rights of "Home, Sweet Home," and ha 6 engaged a company of well-known artists. " Home, Sweet Home " is said to be generously mounted with scenery by Mr Alfred Clinch and assistants ; and new and elegant costumes have been secured from England.
