ADDINGTON YARDS.

THIS DAY. TPkr the " Stab's " Pigeox Express.] In consequence of there being no sale next week, owing to the Christmas holiday, to-day's sale at Addingtooi was a "double" one. In all departments there wore good entries, although in no class were they, much in advance of i last week, and in some caees the yard- ! ing was smaller. There was the usual attendance of v the public, but the recent very dry weather appreciably affected the market, meet markedly in store sheep, the prices of which showed a declino on the unsatisfactory • prices ruling last week. Fat Cattle. — The entry comprised 398 head, including an unusually large number of cows. The quality was uneven, and the market Avas fluctuating, but weak, prices showing a decline of Is per 1001 b. Steers made from £7 to £13, heifers £5. 55 t0 £8 7s 6d, and cows from £4 10s to £10 10s, the latter price being obtained for ah extra good quality animal. Best steer beef made from 24s to 27s 6d, and medium from 19s to 23s per 1001 b. The principal sales were : — For W. F. M. Buckley (Boon Hay), 7 steers at £10 17e 6d to £13, 6 heifers at £6 7s 6d to £10 10s; R. L. Williams (Irwell), 1 cow at £7 17s 6d, 1 steer at £4 10s; W. H. Oakley (Halkett), 2 cows at £4 17s 6d ; R. 0. Dixon (West Eyreton), 4 steers at £5 los to £6 17s 6d; Dwyer'e Executors (Ashburtou), 1 steer at £10 15s, 2 steers at £6 7s 6d; A. Macfarlane (Achray), 8 heifers at £6 ss; E. D. Giles (Mount . Parnassus), 14 steers at £8 17s 6d to £10 ss ; Charles Rudd (Greendale), 2 cows at £8 and £8 7e 6d ; R. A. Chaff ey (Waiau), 6 steers at £7 15s to £8 6s, heifers to £8 7s 6d. Fat Lambs. — There was a large entry the yarding numbering between 2000 and 3000. The supply was too large for the demand, and. prices showed a further decline. Freezing buyers operated very sparingly, the bulk of those sold going to butchers. Tegs made from 16s to 17s >6d, extra to 18s, ordinary freezing weights 13s to 16s, and lighter weights 10s to 12e 6d. Stork Sheep. — The yarding was a fairly large one, but the demand throughout was wqak, and_ as a result of the unsatisfactory prices offered many lots were, passed. As compared with the previous sale, there was an average decline in prices of from 9d to Is per head. Sales made were: — 240 wethere at 15s 6d, 157 ewes and lambs at 7s (all counted), 221 ewes and wethers at 10s. 35 ewes at 12e, 111 wethers at 13s 7d, 44 do at 13s 6d, 71 ewes (four, six and eight-tooth) at 16s 9d, 44 two-tooth ewes at 14s. 4d, 32 wethers at 16r 2d, 27 two-tooth ewes at 13e 3d, 296 wethers at 14s 6d. 94 rape lambs at 12s 2d, 331 ewes and lambs at 8s (all counted). Pigs. — A medium entry met with a better demand than^ last week, but prices remain practically unchanged. Choppers, of which there was an oversupply, miade from 50s to 70s, baeoiiers 48s to 60s, equal to 5d to sjd per lb, and porkers- 36aVto 48«. equal to s£d per lb. Strong sfcorijs realised from 26s to 325, wean.ers.l3s to 17s and suckers 12s 6d to 16s.
