» A DISPUTED CONTRACT. [Per Press Association.] \ AUCKLAND, September 16. f In a case at the Magistrate's Court, whpre Karl Foller sued George Musgrove for £10, a week's wages, the defence being that the amount was deducted owing to plaintiff's inability to pint' his part, Mr Mahoney, for the deCendant, contended that he had a right to fine the plaintiff under Clause 2 of hip agreement, which stated that any person failing or neglecting to appear j had to lose three weeks' salary. Mr j Sharplps contended that, under the provisions of the Truck Act, wages must be paid in full, and a counterclaim must be made for damages. Mi Mahoney contended that the Truck' Act did not apply to operatic singers. The Magistrate reserved his decision.
