Boca, collapsed owing to disturbance of the foundations. A regiment of :n---fantry had quitted the basilica a few minutes before. No lives were lost, though there were numerous remarkAble escapes. The loss is estimated at '£100,000. A chapel containing a supposed miraculous image of the MaAonna is intact.
