. » A FATAL ACCIDENT. AN ENGINE-DRIVER KILLED. An engine-driver named Douglas Yoiuig, in the employ of the Railway Department, was the victim of a fatal accident in the railway yards at ia late hour last night. Young was in ojuurg-c---of an engine which was runming eomttrucks down the yards near the Colombo Street crossing, when he ran diagonally into three trucks wnich were standing upon an adjacent siding. The engine just fadled to clear the trucks, and Young' put on the brakes and, for some unknown reason, jumped off the engine, and was crushed between it and the stationary trucks. The coupling of the engine broke and it was "subsequently pulled up by the fireman, who stuck to hw post. Young was badly crushed about bh© chest and was d©ad when he was. picked up. He was a married man with one child, and resided in Madras Street, Sydercham. The body was removed to the morgue.
