MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

AUCKLAND, April 25. The City Council election resulted in the return of the old members, with the addition of Messrs M'Kay, Somcrs and Dr Stopford, the number of Councillors having been increased by three. The labour ticket was practically defeated, though it included Dr Stopford.

HAWERA, April 25. For the Mayoralty Mr B. C. Robins, 226, defeated Mr E. L. Barton, 175. For the Council the following were elected: — Messrs J. Campbell. E. A. Pacey, E. Morrisey, H. K. Whittington, T. J. Hurrell, J. Brunette, J. Foy, P. R. Wilkinson and J. Boyd. HASTINGS, April 25. For the Hastings Mayoralty Mr Thompson, 659, was re-elected, defeating Mr Dennett, 378, and Mr Lane, 237.

TAIHAPE, April 25. Mr Anthony Nathan has been reelected Mayor. For the Whangarei Mayoralty the election resulted as follows: — Mr Wea--359, Mr Killen 279. INGLEWOOD, April 25. Mr H. B. Curtis has been returned for the Mayoralty by a majority of 67. DANNEVIRKE, April 25. The contest for the Mayoralty resulted:—Mr Ries 442, Mr Patterson 431. ELTHAM, April 25. The. Mayor, Mr G. W. Taylor, was re-elected, polling 296 votes, against Mr C. A. Wilkinson's 243. The retiring Council was re-elected, with the exception of one member. WELLINGTON, April 25. The City Council elections resulted in the return of eleven members of the old Council. The former members rejected were Messrs Izaxd, Frost and Trevor, .while Mr Winder did not offer himself. The- new Councillors are Mr F. M. B. Fisher, M.H.R., Mr Fletcher (a member of the Harbour Board), Mr Hales (a former Engineer-in-Chief for the Colony) and Mr Shirtcliffe (formerly president of the Chamber of Commerce). The " labour ticket " was only successful in securing the return of its two sitting members, Mr M'Laren and Mr Hindmarsh, whilst the "citizens' ticket" secured ton of the fifteen candidates elected. Mr J. Luke, ironfounder, headed the poll. There are 21,162 names on the roll, and about 9000 persons votad. NELSON, April 25. The result of the city municipal ©lections has been the rejection of five old Councillors seeking re-election, including four of the majority that had opposed the Mayor. The re-elected Councillors number three, including two of the Mayor's following and one opponent.; The others are all new blood. The Labour nomine© just failed, but the Unions' representative not selected by the Trades and Labour Council was returned at the bottom of the poll. BLENHEIM, April 25. The Mayoral election was keenly contested, and resulted as follows : — Mr A. M'Callum 335, Mr E. H. Penny (tjhe retiring Mayor) 248, Mr J. J. W. Whit© 189. The election for the Borough Council resulted in the return of Messrs J. Brown, W. Carr, J. White, L. Griffiths, W. H. Macey, W. Ching, G. Patohett, J. M'Kinley and F. Bircb.

[From Our Correspondent.] DUNEDIN, April 25. The two oldest members of the City Council, Councillors Gore and Crust, were defeated yest&rday. Out of 18,106 on the rolls, 5855 voted for the two candidates for tihe Mayoralty.
