THE MAILS.

Letter mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations: —

Mails per Express to Dunedin and South close daily at 7 a.m. and l 11.10 a.m.; late fee (i.e., letters bearing Id additional stamp) 11.25 a.m. ; also mail van up to 8 a.m. and 11.55' a.m. Booka and newspapers, 7 a.m. and 10.10 A.m.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24. For Northern Ports, per Waikare, at 6.25 p.m. ; late fee letters, 6.40 p.m. ; guard's van, 7.45 p.m. train.

THURSDAY, APRIL 25. For Northern Ports and Westport, per Mararoa, at 4.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.30 p.m. ; guard's van, 5.25 p.m. train. '

FRIDAY, APRIL 2C. For Northern Ports, also Australian States, per Warrimoo, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Northern 'Ports and 1 Westport, also Australian -States (to connect with Warrimoo), at 4.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 4.30 p.m.; guard's van. 5.25 p.m. train. SATURDAY, APRIL 27. For Northern Ports and Westport, per Pateena and Moura, at 7.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 7.35 p.m.; guard's van, 11 p.m. train. The next mail from the United Kingdom is due in Christchurch on April 30, via Brindisi.
