THE EXHIBITION.
NOTES.
The change from the colder weather of the past few days to the warmth of to-day was very noticeable at the Exhibition this morning, the temperature in the buildings being high enough to remind attendants at the exhibits of the trying summer through which they have^ passed. The attendance this morning was small, except for the large body of firemen gathered on the Sports Ground, but in the afternoon a great many people took advantage of the Thursday half-holiday to visit the Exhibition.
The display of balloons by .Messrs James Pain and Sons, of London, which was postponed owing to the unfavourable weather last night, will be given this evening at Victoria Lake. Selections will be given by the Garrison Band, and there will be the additional attraction of a grand parade of cadets. The Nelson School Cadet Battalion, 113 lads and 7 officers, arrived at the Exhibition this morning, having come from Wellington by the s.s. Mararoa.
