A CANADIAN-AUSTRALIAN LINE. (Received March 9, 9.37 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March 9. The representatives of the mail syndicate have obtained promises aggregating several hundred thousand pounds from prominent Victorian investors to buy debentures. .■ It is reported that the syndicate will probably tender for a line of fast mail steamers between Canada and Australia! via New Zealand, for which they have heard that tenders are likely to be called by the Canadian, Commonwealth and New Zealand Governments.
