CHRISTCHURCH. " . Tuesday, October 9. (Before Mr V. G. Day, S.M.) Drunkenness. — A first offender was fined 10s and costs for having been found drunk at the railway station. Prohibited Persons. — Thomas Richard Savage pleaded guilty to having obtained liquor during the currency of a prohibition order, and was fined 40s, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. — Mary Main, charged with a similar offence, was fined 20s and costs. Disobedience of Order. . — Walter Frow, who did not appear, was charged with failing to 1 obey an order for the maintenance of his wife, and was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. Supplying Youths with Liquor. — Stanley O'Neil (Mr . G. Harper) was charged with having, upon the premises of the Empire Hotel, sold, liquor to Thomas Wilson, a youth apparently under the age of eighteen years, and not a guest or resident of the hotel. Mr Stringer appeared for the prosecution. After hearing the evidence, his Worship said he would convict, and fined accused 20s. This would be a warning to all concerned to- question all youths in future. Affiliation. — Peter Temby, aged sixty-four, was adjudged the putative father of the child of a young girl, and was ordered to contribute 7s a week for twelve months, and after that 5s a week, towards the support of the child. Maintenance. — Christina Bennington (Mr Graham) complained that William Sinclair Bennington had failed to contribute towards the support of his mother. His Worship granted an order for 7s 6d per week. Assignment -of Bond. — An application by Lucy Fenn (Mr Hall) for the assignment of a bond by Maurice and Dennis O'Reilly was granted.
