Mr Watson, at a meeting at Redfern, declared that the Labour Party's objective was distinctly Socialistic, but he wanted to make it clear that it did not commit the party to adopting any particular form of Socialism. He confessed that he would like to perfect the tariff from a protectionist standpoint before submitting it to a referendum.
