« [From Our Correspondent;} DUNEDIN, September 17. , The master builders and the members of the Carpenters' and Joiners' Society have agreed to meet in conference'annually for the mutual exchange of ideas with regard to the trade. At a meeting of men held in the Garrison Hall yesterday, regarding the vioes of sport, addresses were delivered by Messrs George M'Leren, Wi Repa and Sligo, footballers, and Mi- C. 'R. W. Sinclair said he heartily subscribed to the sentiment expressed by one speaker, namely, " Sweep cant out of your religion and' canker out of your sport, and religion and sport are brought ciose together."
