as possible. The orchestra, under Mr W. V. Siddall, is both large and efficient, and the splendid instrumentation of the opera should received satisfactory interpretation at their hands. In connection with the two operas, "The Mikado" and « The Gondo-; Hers," already produced by the Society so successfully, the. chorus work was most distinctly on© of the principal features of the representation. In t( Erminie " this promises also to be the case, and -here is ample scope afforded, a 6 the composer has written some very beautiful, chorus numbers. In addition to being of'interest as the inaugural performance in the new theatre, the production of "Erminie" by the Amat-eur Operatic Society will possess another notable feature. This will be the introduction of several new principals, who have not been heard before .in connection with the Society. The«?e include amongst others Messrs Charles" Read, Claud Allan, Winter Hall, and Ernest Schatz. Mrs Schatz, who appeared as " Oarise " in the original production of the opera here, will be seen ill the same part on this occasion. The pl&ix of reserved seats will open at the Dresden Music Depot on Wednesday morning. r.
