Th© London wool sales opened Gtrong 5 with prices showing an advance of from par to 7£ per cent.
•The Nktional Mortgage and Agency Company has received the following cable^ inessag^ from its London office, regarding the opening of th© May series on May 8: — " The sales tfpened at average advance of 7? per cent k,i croee-bred coaxs© descriptions. Others firm."
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received th© following cable message from its London house-under date May 8 : — "The wool market opened strong for all sorts. As compared with last sales' closing rates, prices are about par to 5 per cent higher for fine cross-bred and merino and about 5 per cent to 7£ per cent higher for cross-bred coarse and medium croe9-bred. ' '
