The "Standard's" Berlin correspondent states that, with a view to stopping the sale of estates in, Eastern Prussia to anti-German Poles, the Kaiser has conferred peerages on a number of wealthy merchants, mostly of Jewish orjgin, in order to encourage the purchase and entail by them of these estates, thus permanently preventing the Poles from securing the land.
