The lowest British tender for a thousand steed-tyre carriages and waggons for India was twice as much, as the lowest German, although the material and workmanship a-re officially reported to be toe same in each, case. (An earlier Damage stated that the London Metropolitan Railway Company had ordered 440 carriages from Gernxanry, greatly disappointing British firms, the latter being undersold.)
