EAST CHRISTCHURCH v. RICCARTON. The ground was soft at Hagley Park. East Christchurch won the toes, and sent Bkhop and Byrne to the wickets. Callaway and Maitland were in fairly good form with the ball, however, and three wickets were soon down for nine run 6. Playing a man. short, the whole side was out for 56, the double-figure scorers being Blunden (11) and North (10), while Atkinson was not out with- nine to his credit. Callaway took five wickets and Maitland three. Anthony and Beckett went in first for Riccarton, but the side fared worse than their opponents, totalling 50, Whiting (9) being top-scorer. At call of time East Christchurch had lost three wickets for six. WEST CHRISTCHURCH V. £YDENHAM. West Christchurch were all out for S4 in the match against Sydenham, at Sydenhaxn Park. The only man. to make a stand against the bowling of Bennett and M'Murrjay was Whitta, who made 52. The other double figure soarer was Wilson (11). Benxiett took two for 46, and M'Murray sis for 31. Ridley (six for 32) and Read (three for 27) were the most sucoessf ul bowlers. _ Linwood fared even worse than their opponents, totalling only 41, towards which O'Farrell contributed^ hard-hit 19 not out. Ollivier obtained six wickets for 26, and Greenwood three for 14. At their second attempt St< Albans made 32 for two wickets (Ollivier 22 not out).
