England wen the Davis Cup in the lawn tennis tournament, Smith beating Larnedand L. Doherty defeating Ward in, the Singles, and in the Doubles the Doherty brothers beat Ward and Wright.
Brookes beat Gore for the Kent Championship by three sets to two.
