PERSONAL.
On Friday afternoon Mr C. T. Aschman. headmaster of tho Normal Training College, was made the recipient of a handsome brief bag, suitably inscribed, by the pupils of his late Sixth Standard. The presentation was made by Master I<\ W. Cain. Mr Aschman heartily thanked his pupils for the kind spirit that had prompted thorn to give mm such a useful present. ■ When leaving the Masonic Lodge, in Manchester Street, last evening, Mr E. Nordon slipped on the steps and broke his knee-cap. . Mr J. D. Morrison, of Wellington, is fn Ghristohurch. . Mr T. C. Culling, of Dunedin, aa*nvea in Christchurch fco-day. Mr. Lamb, of Dunedin, is in ChnsfcMr W. Gray and Mr J. A. Fothergill arrived from Wellington to-day. Mr and Mrs Hutchinson, of Auckland, are visitors to Christchurch. Messrs T. Buston, O. D.
