MASONIC.
♦ There was a large gathering of the Craft at the Ashley Masonic Lodge. Rangiora, on Thursday evening, for the installation of Bro H. D. Bettger as Worshipful Master. The ceremony was conducted by Right Worshipful Bro F. C. Binns, Grand Superintendent, assisted by R.W. Bro H. ~J..Hobden, J.D.W. : R.W. Bro Gifkins/ P.G. Super-; W. Bro M'Dougal, D/C., and the Grand Lodge officers. The officers | investured were : — J'.P.M., Bro T. R. jCrowwell; S.W., Bro D. M'Kay; J.W., Bro A. Hadecke; chaplain, Bro I Rev F. P. Fendall; treasurer, Bro A. Ivory; secretary, Bro D-'Blak©; S.D., Bro Dr T. A. Will; J.D., Bro D. M'Gill; D.C., Bro W. S. Jordan; 1.G., Bro W. Smith ; stewards, Bros H. Mehrtens and J. Barker; tyler, Bro W. Jones- After the installation, the customary banquet was held in the brass band practice room, and the usual toasts were honoured. Amongst the j/odges represented Vere St Augustine. Concord, Soutliern Cross, Mairaki and Port Chalmers.
