OPERA HOUSE.
There was quite a holiday attendance at the Opera House on Saturday,- when the weekly change of programme took place. The newcomers included Mr Barrie Marschel and Miss Irene Carlyon, whose drawing-room -'-sketch was highly appreciated, giving as it did ample scope for. the display of Mr Marschel' s humor and histrionic ability and for Miss Irene Car lyon's rich contralto voicie in song; aa well as her dramatic power. Vanjbell, . the triple-bar athlete, made his re-appearancej. ajo|' ■;the ;I{^g^^ took^ffieir farewelTr MJ3B Freda Bfan-i, don, the solo cornetist, gave an example of her knowledge and "mastery of the technique of her instrument, and effectually touched the heart of her audience with the ever-popular melody, "Killarney." Mr Leslie F. Warton, in his coon songs and extravagances, was as popular as ever,, as were also the Leeds and Lemar combination in their comedy act, Miss Lemar' s dancing being particularly clevw. Mr Frank King is still earning applause as a vocalist, and Mr Will Stevens' comical-' ities never seem to stale, while his store of new things seems to be eshaustless. The Madell Sisters are excellent dancers, and Miss Celestine Delwyn is acceptable as a serio-comic. Numbers were also contributed by Master George Mealing and Miss Annie Tye, both juveniles. Perhaps as entertaining a number as any on the programme is the exhibition of biograph pictures with which the entertainment concludes. To-night Paul Delano will appear. He is heralded as the most wonderfully tatooed man on earth, and his speciality is juggling and balancing.
