An American Senator, who is very short-sighted, while at dinner one evening in an hotel, experienced considerable difficulty in separating what he thought was a chooolate from the plate passed him by a coloured waiter. It stuck fast, so the Senator pushed his fork under it, and tried again and again to prize it up.
