Shrubb easily defeated Wheatley in th.e mile, which was run in 4njiri 31seo. He also won the three miles yictorian championship in 15min 15sec, beating Blake by 70yds, land lowering the record. Botn visitors competed 'in the handicap events, but th© tasks set them were too great.
