Pi-her and Whitehoad, contrary to expectations, produced a moat interesting game. The former won, 7-5, 7-5, €-4, but his opponent L " played the game of his life, placing with an ■ accuracy that time and again absolutely beat : his doughty opponent. His lobbing waa ako ■ good, though anything s"hort was Bcverely punished. In the second sei_ he -had five games to one, but Fisher gradually reduced the lead and look the sot. The final of the Auckland Men's Championship Doubles, whioh had been . discontinued a week before on account of rain, was corame^ed again lut Saturday. Brdwn and Bamford won from Paterson and iLonguet, 7-5, 4-6, 3-6, 6-4, 8-6.
