The newspapers at Tokio deplore the assassination of the Grand Duke Sergius, which they .ascribe to tyranny. They hope that the affair will be fruitful of good results, and emphasise the fact that Japan is fighting the Government, not the people of Russia. THE WORKMEN'S DEMANDS. ST PETERSBURG, February 20. The factory owners 'of St Petersburg have informed the Minister of Finance of their inability to comply with * the workmen's demands, and added that wide reforms of a general political character would v ;alone satisfy them.
