♦ • ■ RECEPTION OF THE CHAMPION BAND. [Per Press Association.] WANGANUI, February 21.. The Wanganui Garrison Band -returned from the Auckland contest by the midday train to-day, and met with a great reception. They marched to Cook's Gardens, where over two thousand people assembled, and addresses of welcome were delivered by the Mayor and Mr Remington, member for Rangitikei. Conductor Crichton was presented with a handsome gold medal from the citizens.
