He 'was in quest of a good bulldog for his father, but that seems an almost hopeless task. American millionaires gave £1000 each for Rodney Stone and Heath Baronet, and anything good in. the "national breed" is at a premium. There was a fair en.fcry of dogs at the , -Manawatu Agricultural Show last week. Messrs Horrax and Bramah judged. Grey- ] hounds, .English settere, colliw and fox terriers were the best-filled classes.
